I plan to cycle the complete distance of the North Downs Way, 153 miles across English countryside. I will be riding alone with no “support car” so I will be carrying all the equipment I need for bike maintenance and repairs.
Why? Having experienced the devastating affects Alzheimers can have on the sufferer and their immediate family I plan to donate all sponsorship raised to my nominated chairity the Alzheimers Society.
You can read more about how to sponsor me on the sponsors page.
About the North Downs Way, taken from the official National Trail website.
The North Downs Way National Trail runs for 153 miles through the Surrey Hills and Kent Downs Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONBs). It runs from Farnham on the Surrey Hampshire border to Dover – Gateway to England.
My journey will take me from Farnham in Surrey, east to Dover in Kent, via Godalming, Guildford, Dorking, Merstham, Otford and Rochester, along the Surrey Hills and Kent Downs.
The route is predominantly offroad which will make cycling it difficult but I hope to complete the journey in 2 – 3 days.
